Sometime after our original Puss passed away, we felt that we needed another cat to console us, and found a little mostly black playful bundle at a local vet. We named her Mischief. Sadly, after only a very short period with us, she was snatched out of Reen’s arms by the somewhat psychotic blue cattle …
Brad and Nyssa owned Pandora, a black oriental, and gave her to us in 2013. Sadly, she was always somewhat unwell and died of leukaemia in 2015.
When Nyssa allowed her Balinese blue-point Periwinkle (usually just Peri) to have kittens to Thor, Jacko’s blue-point British Short-Hair, in July 2023 the grandkids decided that it was *imperative* that Grandma have one of them—as Sienaar was Grandpa’s kitty and it just wan’t at all fair that Grandma didn’t have a cat of her own …
Flame came along not long after Sienaar, as someone though she needed company. As it turned out, she really preferred being an “only child” but Flame settled into the house anyhow. While Flame liked all of us, she really **loved** Katie; so when Katie moved out to her own flat, Flame went along with her.
Sienaar came to live with us a little while after Misty passed; Misty was technically Reen’s cat and Nyssa felt that her Mum needed company 🙂 She is purebred Siamese, as such her full name is “Princess Sienaar” (but we seldom stand on formality). Oh, and in case you were wondering, Sienaar is an expansion …
Angel was given to Nyssa in 2006 when she moved out of home, but after various adventures came back to live with us. In 200x she “adopted” Joel and so moved out with and lived with him. After a long and loving life she passed away from age-related complications early 2021.
Misty came to live with us in 1989 (as best as we can work out) and was named because all of her colours seemed to blur together, giving her a misty appearance. We took her on from a work colleague who could no longer keep her. She died in November 2006, basically of old age.
Shadow came to live with us as a baby rescued from “behind a dumpster” at a site Joel was working. She reminded us so much of our beloved Midnight that we named her “Shadow (of Midnight)”. After much love, Shadow passed away in November 2018.
Midnight came to live with us in January 1989. She was found on the street when she was only about a month old. She was wonderfully friendly almost as if she was always grateful for us giving her a home; and loved to cuddle us and especially to talk to us. Sadly Midnight passed away …
Pussy came to live with us in 1979, the year we were married. She was a wonderful friend through five different homes, passing away in 198x from feline leukaemia.
